This notice is written for younger users of RIP. — especially those aged 13 to 15. If you are a parent or guardian, please read this with your child.
1. What Is RIP.?
RIP. is an app that teaches you about investing and the stock market through virtual trading competitions called duels. You start with $10,000 in pretend money and compete against your friends by picking real stocks. No real money is ever involved — it is all simulated.
RIP. is operated by RIP Club Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17112888).
ICO Registration Number: ZC110349 (registered 24 March 2026)
2. Who Can Use RIP.?
You need to be at least 13 years old to use RIP.
If you are 13, 14, or 15, a parent or guardian must give their permission before you can create an account. We will ask for their email address so we can send them a consent request. Your account will only be activated once they confirm.
If you are 16 or 17, you can create your own account without needing permission from a parent or guardian.
3. What Information Do We Collect?
Information you give us when you sign up
- Your username — we never ask for your real name
- Your date of birth, so we know your age
- Your location — the country or region you are in
- Your parent or guardian's email address, if you are aged 13 to 15, so we can get their permission
- If you are 16 or over, you can choose to add your phone number so your friends can find you. We only ever keep a scrambled (hashed) version — never your real number, and it is never shown to anyone. If you are under 16 we will never ask for it.
Information we collect automatically
- What type of device you are using
- How you use the app — which parts you visit and how long you spend there
- Your general location — we only know what country you are in, not your home address
4. Why Do We Need This Information?
- To set up your account and let you use the app
- To check that you are old enough, or get permission from your parent or guardian if you are under 16
- To keep your account safe and secure
- To fix problems and make the app better
5. What We Will Never Do
- Sell your information to anyone
- Share your information with advertisers
- Track your exact location
- Ask you for your phone number, or access your contacts, if you are under 16 — these friend-finding features are for ages 16 and over only
- Access your camera or microphone
- Send you marketing emails without asking first
6. Who Can See Your Information?
Your username and duel results may be visible to other RIP. users on leaderboards and in duels, depending on your privacy settings. Your personal information — your date of birth and location — is never visible to other users.
7. Your Rights
- See what information we have about you — email us at [email protected]
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your account and all your information
- Ask us to stop using your information in certain ways
If you are under 16, your parent or guardian can also exercise these rights on your behalf.
You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
8. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep certain records.
9. A Note for Parents and Guardians
If your child is aged 13 to 15, we will send you an email to request your consent before their account is activated.
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Refuse consent, or withdraw it at any time, by emailing [email protected]
- Request access to all data we hold about your child
- Request deletion of your child's account and all associated data
If you have any concerns, please email [email protected] and we will respond within 48 hours.
